Youth from Pleven Developed an Online Game for Safe Internet

At February 26, 2025, the “Dimitar Dimov” Primary and Secondary Educational School, Pleven, also launched a campaign for safe communication on the internet. Some of the students – Vyara, Desislava, Victoria and Darena – trained by us in December using the “peer-to-peer” method presented what they had learned to 26 students from grade 8a.

Vyara presented information on ways to protect personal data and the site that offers the opportunity to check the reliability of passwords. Desi talked about what online bullying is and who young people can turn to for help when they are being bullied online. Vicky presented antivirus programs. Dari introduced the eighth graders to the concept of “sexting” and drew attention to the dangers of online communication with strangers.

The girls tested the knowledge of the eighth graders by involving them in a video game they had developed themselves, which included questions on the topic. By giving correct answers, the children passed through several levels of difficulty.

The meeting of the eighth graders with their older classmates was held with great interest. The campaign aims to cover all eighth graders (about 150 students) and seventh graders (about 100 students) of the elementary school, which is located in the high school building, by the end of the school year.

We are happy to learn how the knowledge we have passed on is being spread further and is beneficial. We thank the enterprising young people and the teachers who support them on their way to being useful to others!
