Resilient Young People – Mental Health Challenges in a Global Context

The 11th National Conference on Global Education took place on 12 and 13 September 2024 under the theme ‘Building Resilient Young People – Mental Health Challenges in a Global Context’. The organizers – Bulgarian Platform for International Development (BPID) and the Bulgarian Family Planning and Sexual Health Association (BFPA) – and the participants – principals, psychologists and teachers from secondary schools in the country – talked about mental health and the role of the school in building a supportive environment for young people, so that they can develop their full potential. In the main panel on mental health, Dr. Radosveta Stamenkova drew attention to specific approaches in working with students and talked about the platform for psychological support ‘One click away’.

The second important intervention was the presentation of a concrete opportunity in the new school year to cover new schools with our education company with Durex for health education. We also have the first requests.

During the second day we presented a workshop for children on the Internet. Pavlina Filipova and Dr. Radosveta Stamenkova from the BFPA team, which is also part of the National Center for Safe Internet, in two consecutive workshops talked about the dangers on the Internet and the opportunities for impact within the ‘Digital Children’ project. Great conversations started in both groups.
