Health Mediators from the Class of 2026 Received Certificates after Successfully Passing the Final Exam
On May 3, another training program for health mediators – Class of 2026 – was successfully completed. A total of 16 candidates completed the full training course, passed the final exam, and officially received their certificates for professional qualification as “health mediators.” The municipalities of Venets, Varshets, Gotse Delchev, Gurkovo, Dolni Chiflik, Iskar, Ivaylovgrad, Lovech, Nikola Kozlevo, Plovdiv, Ruen, and Stamboliyski will be able to appoint the newly trained mediators immediately after their return from Sofia.

The Bulgarian Family Planning and Sexual Health Association has been part of the training program since the establishment of the health mediator profession. The program is also supported by the Faculty of Public Health at the Medical University of Sofia, which once again hosted the training and is an integral part of the teaching team. Appreciation is also due to the long-standing trainers from the National Center of Public Health and Analyses, the Bulgarian Red Cross, the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, and UNICEF. In addition to knowledge in health prevention and information, the expert team presented a wide range of topics related to the practice of health mediation throughout the training process.
The newly certified health mediators will begin work in various locations across the country, where they will support access to healthcare, contribute to improving health literacy, and build a bridge between local communities and healthcare institutions.

Best of luck, dear colleagues—may you have strong will and patience! We wish you success in your important and inspiring mission in service of society.
