Health educational campaign of Durex supported by BFPA marked the end of the scholar year across the country
The campaign is taking place not only in Sofia and Pleven, but also in Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Varna, Burgas and Ruse. More than 40 000 pupils from 80 schools are to be engaged in this end-of-scholar-year campaign, which is a part of the long lasting efforts of Durex in their safe sex and health lifestyle promotion.
According to the report of the company prepared in the frame of one of their projects there is a huge lack of knowledge on topics connected with unsafe sex practices and STI prevention among Bulgarian youth. 40% of sexually active people between 16 and 24 admit they already had intimate relations with more than one person without using condom, 61% usually do not think of using a condom up to the moment they need it.
The campaign fills a gap, but does not respond to the unmet need of including comprehensive health education into the school curriculum, which goal is up to date information to reach all young people in schools
