Youth participation and non-formal education

On March 27 in Sofia, BFPA, in partnership and with the support of the British Council Bulgaria, organized a discussion meeting “Youth Participation and Non-Formal Education”. Over 30 experts from various institutions and organizations, working in different fields – education, healthcare, environment, civic participation, culture, and having a common point of intersection – young people, shared experience and good practices and spoke about their needs and the difficulties they face.

This was not just a story about what we do, but a joint effort to identify priorities and make recommendations to the British Council on where to provide support and what youth policies to develop. Time was also spent analyzing cooperation with British organizations and the potential for joint future actions. The UK is returning to the EU’s most beloved and popular programme – Erasmus Plus – from January 2027, and this is another good opportunity for the foreseeable future.

The British Council representatives from Romania, Poland and Greece who joined the online meeting unanimously shared the opinion that the civil sector in Bulgaria has great experience and expertise and is a desirable partner and example of good practices. Unity truly makes strength!
