Too early and too late pregnancy are two sides of the same thing
Dr. Radosveta Stamenkova on family planning, the biological clock and responsibility towards children

…
You are the Еxecutive Аirector of the Bulgarian Family Planning and Sexual Health Association. Could something like family be planned and why is it important?
Everything can be planned, although they say that the gods have the most fun with us humans when we start making plans. And in fact, family planning is a collective definition of various interdisciplinary activities – health prevention, reproductive health, education, social initiatives and community development, advocacy and policy development for disadvantaged people. If you need a blitz definition, it would be:
“Family planning means having as many children as you want and having them when you want. Family planning is a responsibility towards children”.
In your opinion, what is the level of sexual literacy of Bulgarian women? Is there enough reliable and accessible information on the subject?
I would say that there is more than enough information on the subject. It is like any information just a few keys away, invasively flooding us through various communication channels. There is, of course, one big but – is this information reliable, is it credible? How to distinguish truth from fake news?
We need an apparently basic skill, which seems to be lacking more and more – it is called “reading with comprehension.” And critical thinking skills.
