Learning Action Partnership Turns 10
It has been imperceptibly 10 years since we created the network of professionals working for prevention of children from sexual exploitation. It was in 2013 within the framework of one of our projects then.
The last meeting for this year of the Learning and Action Partnership (LAP) was held on December 12, 2023 in Sofia. During all this time, we periodically meet and exchange experiences, opportunities, innovations and good practices from the field in which each of the member organizations works. Subtly, we have built a sense of community, as among our greatest achievements are the National Conference with international participation “Prevention of sexual violence and sexual exploitation of children is possible” held in November 2017 and the National Working Conference of LAP held in April 2022. within which we also launched the “Eyes Peeled” Campaign – for zero tolerance to sexual exploitation of children.
This meeting was also a little bit special because we held it in partnership with the British Council. We had an interesting lecturer, a specialist in the field of communication, Prof. Desislava Boshnakova from the New Bulgarian University, and also a valuable and useful inclusion from neighboring Greece – Krisa Vlachapoulou, business and operations manager for the European region of the British Council – with information about upcoming programs and opportunities for us.
At this meeting we were joined by representatives of a network of organizations working with children and young people from vulnerable communities. With a glass of wine each, we wished each other many more fruitful meetings on the network. We are rich with new people and the prospect of good deeds.
