Future Leaders in Action
Young people from three cities in the country – Byala Slatina, Simitli and Dupnitsa are working actively with us from the beginning of April this year. It is an ongoing, building work with them. All of them have gone through a series of our trainings in advocacy, various communication skills and leadership. This time, the four girls and four young men visited our office in two groups for two days each – on April 4 and 5 and on April 9 and 10. During their stay, all of them – individually or in small groups – visited the institutions British Council, UNICEF, SACP, IoM and NCCHA. They took the role of journalists, asking questions and understanding how each of them functions. The study visit of the future leaders included preliminary special training at the BFPA office, during which they all performed certain independent tasks.

Young people have ideas, proactive thinking, motivation and enthusiasm to learn, know and do more to make a difference in their communities. They dream of studying or are already studying for teachers, medical specialists and doctors, economy and politics, tourism, and their experience so far for causes work is not to be underestimated.
Our project #LYRA works to #overcome #stereotypes and contributes to #sustainable positive #changes both for #Roma #communities and for society as a whole, on a national and international scale.
